Import Requirements in Netherlands
Items that have cultural value (works of art and antiques) can't be exported from the Netherlands just like that.

One may only export items of cultural value from the Netherlands if he (she) has obtained a licence from the Cultural Heritage Inspectorate of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Whether you need a licence depends on the value and age of the good of cultural value you wants to export.

A min value of drawing is determined as € 15,000 and a min age as 50 years.

If a drawing exceeds both 'thresholds', an export licence will generally be required.

Customs and other services will check whether you have complied with the above rules. If you don't comply with the rules you will be liable to punishment and can be prosecuted.

If a work of art or an antique item is a piece of the importer’s furniture, he (she) may bring it to the country. If you have bought works of art or antiques in the country you are moving from, you may bring these along with you into the Netherlands only if you have specific licences. Recognized art or antique shops can often  their assistance.

Works of art and antiques are subject to special rules. The regulations that are applicable in this case may differ per country from which you are moving.
