Exclusive Import Requirements in Thailand
Antique import documentation: no documents required, if part of the household articles. It is advised to specify antiques on import documents to prove their shipment in order to facilitate their export later.

Buddha images, Bodhisattva images or fragments are forbidden to be exported from Thailand. They can be taken out only for worshipping by Buddhists or cultural exchanges. A license must be received from the Department of Fine Arts for export of the above goods and other antiques.

Procedure for license application:
1) Photograph with front view of goods and two postcard-sized prints (not more than 5 pieces in one photograph).
2) The passport of the applicant must be also photocopied.
3) Goods together with photographs and applicant's passport with photocopy must be taken to the National Museums Division, Bangkok, or the National Museums in such provinces: Chiang Mai, Songkhla, Phuket, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani (Ban Chiang) at least 7-10 days before the date of transportation or departure of the applicant in order to process the application and for inspection.
